Department of Economics is one of the very few founder departments of the college. The department started its journey in the year 1973 along with the college. Since the very starting the department is privileged to teach honours course under the University of Burdwan. The department has a proud history of preparing successful students who are presently serving as Teachers in reputed educational institutes, Entrepreneurs, Bankers and the like. The department is presently being run by three eminent full time Assistant Professors. Course curriculum is guided by the Kazi Nazrul University. Apart from the regular library facility, the undergraduate course is assisted by computer laboratory with installed SPSS software and e resources through UGC N-List platform to access online journals/eBooks.
